Office Manager Lisa Page and Owner John Truckner.

John Truckner is sweet on the Lord and he wants everybody to know it. his second career—

producing and bottling pure raw honey, and supporting dozens of local charities in the process.

“I do everything I can to promote Jesus Christ,” said Truckner. “It’s so important to me that anything God gives me, I use it for God’s glory.”

Truckner got into the honey business after his son Jeff mentioned that his friend Jeremy Crews wanted to start a retail honey business. Crews’ family had been involved in the “bee business” for years, with Jeremy’s dad retiring as a state bee inspector for Indian River County.

“We have about 1,500 hives locally,” Truck-ner said. “But I am more involved in the retail end of the business because I want people to get a fair price on honey. I stand behind every bottle I sell and if there’s ever a problem, I will make it right.”

Truckner started out selling his honey at festivals and later at produce markets like Hale Groves. Now, he runs the operation at 7650 Old Dixie Highway in Vero Beach. The retail store is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers different flavored honey like cinnamon and lemon. Mail order is also available and there are 12 local stores where the honey can be purchased.

“It’s just so healthy for you,” said Truckner. “There isn’t anything that compares to raw honey.”

At the business location on Old Dixie High-way, Truckner holds Bible Study every Thurs-day, starting with dinner at 6:15 p.m. and concluding by 8 p.m. About 20 men and women participate weekly, enjoying a home-cooked meal, and learning the important messages of the Christian faith.

Living his faith is what Truckner is all about. He actively supports local charities, making donations to organizations that help spread the messages of Jesus Christ. He also sup-ports Christian radio, which helps to get the word of Jesus Christ out to the community.

“With everything I do, I ask myself, ‘How can John Truckner promote Jesus Christ?’” he said. “Everything I do, it’s through Him. I do it for God’s glory.”
